Operation Christmas Tree is a heartfelt, volunteer-driven initiative dedicated to bringing holiday cheer through the selection and display of a beautiful Christmas tree in the heart of our community.
Born from the desire to upgrade previous trees with something more meaningful, beautiful, and unifying, Operation Christmas Tree brings together residents, local businesses, and volunteers in this project that reflects the spirit of the season.
Anyone can be involved, whether you contribute your time or
through sponsorships – everyone can have a hand in creating the magic.
Join us Saturday, November 29, 2025, for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, a celebration filled with music, hot cocoa, caroling, and a countdown that lights up the tree—and the community— with warmth and wonder.
Operation Christmas Tree is more than just a tree; it’s a symbol of what a community can accomplish together, and a lasting reminder of the joy of giving, gathering, and glowing brighter—together.
The Albany Downtown Association and community partners are on a mission to bring a beautiful new tree to Albany this holiday season.
